Bårdar Swing Club is a non-profit organization in Oslo, Norway, offering dance classes in Lindy Hop, Boogie Woogie, Balboa, Blues and Shag. The club has existed since 1994, and is based on volunteer work in everything from teaching and DJ'ing to baking cakes and organizing events and parties.
Bårdar Swing Club is dedicated to providing a safe and comfortable dance experience for everyone, therefore all members, instructors, pupils, volunteers and social dancers in our scene are required to comply with the following code of conduct. The board, the teachers and all volunteers will enforce this code. We are expecting cooperation from all members to help ensure a safe environment for everybody.
Bårdar Swing Club is dedicated to providing a safe and comfortable dance experience for everyone, regardless of gender, age, sexual orientation, ability, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion (or lack thereof). We do not tolerate harassment in any form. People violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from class/the event and/or scene without a refund at the discretion of the board.
Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of classes or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.
If asked to stop any harassing behavior, you are expected to comply immediately.
If someone engage in harassing behavior, Bårdar Swing Club may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the class, event or scene with no refund at the discretion of the board.
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact an organizer or contact person immediately. We will be happy to listen, help our members contact the event responsible or local law enforcement, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the event. We value your honesty and your safety.
We expect all members, staff, and event participants to follow these rules at dance and workshop venues.
